Thinkertags NFC Metal
Generally NFC doesn't work on metal surfaces. Thinkertags NFC Metal variant has built-in shielding that fixes this — reliable on steel, aluminium, machinery, server racks, metal doors. Range (at which the NFC can be scanned from) is slightly shorter than the standard version.
Works especially well with Direct Link
Direct Link is a Thinkertags feature that sends people straight to the target URL — no preview page, no extra tap.
Put NFC and Direct Link together and you get the shortest path possible: tap the sticker, land on the page. Nothing in between.
Advanced NFC Features with Thinkertags MAX
Te NTAG 424 DNA chip allows us to can generate and verify a cryptographically unique signature on every single tap. That means the tag can prove it was physically present, not just photographed or bookmarked by the scanner.
The most immediate applications are in industries where proof of presence matters: a security guard completing a patrol route, a technician signing off on a maintenance check, a cleaner confirming a room was serviced. With NFC, that confirmation is hard to fake — every tap generates a completely new unique link, which means every recorded access requires someone to have physically been there. And if a tag is ever copied or tampered with, it shows.

All new Thinkertags has NFC integrated. Access your link(s) by scanning or tapping. Make sure you get the Thinkertags for Metal variant if you are going to stick Thinkertags on any metal surfaces and need NFC to work.
All Thinkertags ship with the NFC 424 DNA Chip but to access advanced NFC Features for tamper-proof you will need a Thinkertags MAX subsription. Basic NFC features to access your links do not require any subscription.
Q&A
Do my existing tags have NFC? No. NFC is in the new Thinkertags NFC line. Your QR-only tags continue to work fine.
Do I need an app? No. NFC works natively on iPhones (7 and newer) and all modern Android phones.
What about phone cases? Standard cases don't block NFC. No issue there.
When do I need the Metal variant? If the surface is metal. Otherwise, standard.
